NewOutlookBlog: Cristina LilySpace - New Artist

Cristina was born and raised in Rome, Italy, where she almost instantaneously fell in love with music (listening to R&B, soul, and hip-hop). In a recent conversation, she stated, "The first thing I could ever remember is singing, first I started humming and trying to sing, then learned to talk. Music from the USA would be very accessible and that's all I would listen to, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Culture Club". Growing up with MTV Cristina began to take interest in the lyrics especially,"I started to get the lyrics but when I was young, internet did not exist, so I had to buy original cassettes to get the lyrics and they would be pretty expensive for my family, so I had to choose them very carefully. My first cassette was for my 6th birthday and it was Michael Jackson "Dangerous" I was so happy and the lyrics were so beautiful. That is how I started getting familiar with English, I wanted to understand the meaning of these beautiful songs and I would use the dictionary and try to translate and make sense out of a song, plus I would sing it till I would know the words by heart. Some of these songs I still sing by heart".

Cristina has a background in Film and New Media as a social media enthusiast and a passionate learner. She's volunteered for many charities and organizations in Italy and in the US, finding herself always raising awareness for a cause. "Children in foster care are at risk and now more than ever these kids need our help. I raise awareness through social media because it's one of the best and most powerful ways to express our ideas".

In 2014 she relocated to Oregon and fell in love with its positive energy. Stating, "I am inspired by Portlanders every day, I love meeting new people and learning new things". She'd love to collaborate with the artist in the Oregon area and beyond.
